Through her popular novels and her beautiful paintings, she has been able to express some of her thoughts and feelings.

The gaming industry is full of talented executives who demonstrate their abilities not only in the corporate world, but in other areas as well. Such is the case of Letitia Fontana. Born 28 years ago in San Giorgio delle Pertiche, Padova (Italy), she started writing novels at a very young age. She even won her very first publication when she was only 16 years old, getting the second place for her story ‘Zerstört’ at one of the most important writing competitions in Italy, Campiello Giovani Prize.

From then on, Letitia started working as a writer for newspapers, in parallel with the development of her literary career and the recognition of the public. Two books followed, Uragano (‘Hurricane’ in English, 2016) and 80 Proof Heart (2019). Both of these novels were much appreciated by critics and readers alike. “I’m especially proud of 80 Proof Heart. I think it’s my best novel by far,” she confesses to G&M News.

She also shares: “Painting came into my life after suffering deep grief. That was my darkest hour, and I needed to let go all the stress. While in the process of writing 80 Proof Heart in 2019, I started painting. It was a sort of self-taught therapy.”

PASSIONS, PROCESSES AND EVOLUTION

For Fontana, writing books and painting gives her a way to let out what she feels or thinks. As a creative person, she believes both hobbies are a way to express herself. “I mostly paint the ocean because I have a strong bond to water, storms, and deep dark skies. I am a thoughtful person: darkness and deepness are part of me. I also love to tell stories. In my last novel, 80 Proof Heart, I recounted four different stories with four main characters, and I loved the process of writing that text. Readers can get inside the consciences of these four characters. The psychological part of writing is something that I love as well,” she tells of the challenges and attractions of her creative process.

About her times and her life evolution, she explains: “Writing requires a lot more effort than painting in terms of time dedication. If I can finish up a painting in two hours, writing a book needs several months. I stopped writing and started painting when my daughter was born. Being a single mom and working with a full schedule, I don’t have enough time anymore to sit down and write a whole book, but I can paint while my daughter sleeps. I paint almost on a daily basis. I still write when I work at WorldMatch, but, instead of novels, I write PRs. I actually love that my job still has some ties to the art of writing.”

MEDIA, EVENTS AND A GREAT WORK TEAM

In that sense, she thinks she is lucky enough to have a job that mostly it is not stressful. She has a great executive team around her. When a problem appears, they all try to figure out the best possible solution and no one is ever left alone or unheard. She thinks that having a good support system at the workplace is the key not to get stressed.

Letitia remembers her joining the company and describes her job duties: “I entered WorldMatch two years ago, so I’m pretty new to the iGaming industry. I started as Executive Assistant to the CEO, Andrea Boratto, and then I took also responsibilities in the management of the Press Office and Media Relations in general. My job focuses on content and social media marketing, and media relations. On the Assistant side, I organize and supervise the trips planned by the top management, and I guarantee the performance of office tasks with particular attention to requests made by them. Lastly, I proactively support the organization of corporate events, such as trade shows and fairs around the world.”

Efficient at the office, and talented and passionate in art, Letitia demonstrates her many facets and expects to continue on a path of personal and professional growth.
