Why has the firm chosen Latin America as a region to focus and grow? What strategies have you developed there, and which markets do you see as the most promising?
Latin America has been a key focus for Altenar because of its rapid digital transformation, strong sports culture, and growing interest in regulated iGaming. Each country in the region presents unique opportunities, but Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina stand out due to their market size and regulatory advancements. Our strategy in LatAm has been to combine global expertise with a solid local presence. This means adapting our platform to regulatory requirements and user preferences. We also prioritize forming strong partnerships with operators that understand the region and leveraging our scalable technology to help them grow efficiently.
What opportunities and challenges do the newly regulated and highly competitive Brazilian market bring? What are the benefits of having recently inaugurated a new office in São Paulo?
Brazil represents one of the biggest opportunities in the global iGaming space, with its passionate sports audience and massive player base. The regulation brings much-needed structure, but also challenges in terms of compliance, taxation, and competition. Opening our São Paulo office was a strategic move to provide local support, build closer relationships with partners, and stay ahead of regulatory developments. Being on the ground allows us to react quickly to market needs and offer tailored solutions to operators. In such a competitive space, having a localized approach is crucial for long-term success.
Which of your company’s latest tools and features, such as the Betslip Boost feature, excite you the most, and why?
One of the most exciting innovations is our Betslip Boost feature, which enhances player engagement by offering dynamic odds adjustments and additional betting options within the same slip. Features like this create a more interactive and rewarding experience for bettors while increasing retention for operators. We’re also focusing on new tools for risk management, fraud detection, and personalized player experiences. These innovations help operators optimize their offerings while ensuring a safer and more efficient betting environment.
Altenar has a blog that includes various interesting content, studies, and analyses. How important do you think training and education are for both operators and players?
Education is fundamental to the success of any iGaming market. For operators, understanding regulatory frameworks, risk management, and technological advancements is key to staying competitive. For players, responsible gaming education and knowledge of betting mechanics help build trust in the industry. Our blog serves as a knowledge hub, providing valuable insights on trends, best practices, and regulatory updates. We believe that an informed industry is a stronger industry, and that’s why we invest in producing high-quality content for both our partners and the broader market.
What personal and professional expectations do you have regarding the future of the iGaming and sports betting sector, considering technological innovations, changes in user interests, and the opening of new markets?
The future of iGaming and sports betting is all about innovation, regulation, and personalization. Emerging technologies like AI and machine learning will continue to shape how we enhance user experiences, optimize risk management, and ensure compliance. All markets, especially in Latin America, Africa, and North America will keep expanding as regulations evolve. Players are looking for more engaging and tailored experiences, which means operators will need to leverage official data, daily operations and automation to stay ahead. From a professional standpoint, my goal is to continue driving Altenar’s expansion in high-growth regions while fostering strong, long-term relationships with partners. It’s an exciting time for the industry, and we’re ready to help operators navigate the opportunities ahead.
