Professional football defines the “transfer market” as the period of the year during which players can be transferred between football clubs. A “transfer” is the term used when a player under contract moves between clubs or accepts an offer as a free agent.
With some differences, the football transfer market is similar to recruiting talent for senior management positions in the corporate world: competition is increasingly fierce and global. For companies, identifying people whose knowledge, values, and talents fit their needs is one of the most difficult tasks. Of course, having the best managers means having a strategic advantage.
Thus, at G&M News, through our new Transfer Market section, we will provide a general review of the “big signings and appointments” in the different markets, according to the languages and characteristics of each. The idea is to try to reflect, in part, the frequent labor mobility demonstrated by the gaming industry, with its dynamism, competitiveness, innovation, and constant challenges.
It is also important to understand that, especially since the pandemic, many executives no longer only seek good compensation, but also a place that allows for learning and growth, with a sustainable, diverse, and egalitarian environment. We present, therefore, some of the most recent “transfers” for March 2025.
1) DAN STONE
This experienced executive has been hired by inplaySoft as Marketing Director to continue increasing the brand’s presence in LatAm, including Brazil. It’s an international provider of iGaming platform solutions that offers trustworthy technology and first-class support for operators. Dan brings an extensive career in Clarion Gaming, Pronet Gaming, and Sportingtech, where he worked for over two years.
2) ANDY EVERS
GiG Software Plc has announced the appointment of former DraftKings’ Commercial Director as its new Senior Vice President of Commercial, reinforcing its commitment to giving best-in-class service and operational excellence to its growing network of partners. This appointment underscores the company’s strategic focus on deepening relationships with its clients and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
3) BRYAN CHERRETT
Pinnacle has named former kwiff head as the operator’s new Director of Payments, replacing long-term executive Isabelle Delisle in the process. Cherrett joins the low-margin, high-volume firm after two-and-a-half years with kwiff as Head of Payments. During his time with kwiff, he was based out of Malta, and responsible for overseeing the implementation of new payment solutions at the online operator.
4) LAWRENCE LEVY
Amatic Industries, the Austrian manufacturer of premium gaming solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lawrence Levy as its new Commercial Director for the Americas. With many years of experience in the gaming industry, he will play a key role in strengthening Amatic’s presence throughout Central & South America, building partnerships, and driving strategic initiatives across the region
5) ULRIK BENGTSSON
A highly experienced and accomplished global executive with deep industry knowledge and expertise, Ulrik Bengtsson has been selected as the new Group Chief Executive of Sun International. Bengtsson is replacing outgoing CE Anthony Leeming, who previously announced his intention to take early retirement. Moreover, Bengtsson’s 20 years of experience includes a stint as CEO of Betsson Group from 2012-2017 and William Hill from 2018 to 2022. He will begin his new role by July 1st, 2025.
