Guilherme Graziani (Oddsgate). Adding value to the industry and promoting responsible gaming

The Head of Business Development for Latin America at the key online gaming supplier sat down with G&M News to analyze the company’s strategy for the region, the current state of the Brazilian gambling scene, the relevance of being close to their partners, and the main features of ‘The Future of iGaming in 2050,’ a document the firm recently presented.

With a global footprint, Oddsgate assists clients by simplifying processes, improving operations, implementing compliance and security, and ensuring excellence and customized managed services.

By Roman Frymer, editor at G&M News.

What were the company’s main objectives for visiting the Argentine gaming market?

We attended the Sagse show in Buenos Aires (Argentina) because we are expanding very rapidly all across LatAm. During our stay in the country, we learned about the market, got new partners, and understood the local needs and requirements for us to keep giving a top-quality service. Moreover, in Oddsgate, we think it’s also relevant to add value to the industry and promote responsible gaming.

How does your firm approach its commitment to spreading responsibility within the industry?

We mustn’t forget that we are part of the entertainment industry, and we have a lot of responsibilities. Player responsibility should be the core of sustainable growth in any market that you go into. How do we do this? By having trustable partners: operators, local stakeholders, authorities, to make sure the environment is safe.

In which way are you planning to continue progressing in an open and flourishing market like Brazil, where you are already established?

Brazil it’s following its own trend, and companies need to adapt to it. As for Oddsgate, we are a very close partner to Brazilian operators. We listen to what they need in order to keep scaling. For example, one key aspect that changed in the Brazilian market is the KYC strategy. We go into the market to understand how we can implement our products, always looking at the operations and the regulatory framework to make sure that we can give them all the solutions that they need to expand their business. It’s not something easy because, as you know, Brazil grew so much in the past five years as an unregulated market. There are so many things that they need to be taught, and this is something that we always work with operators. Of course, at the beginning, it’s going to be difficult, but it’s a learning curve, not just for us as a company, not just for our operators, but for the whole industry. Other markets such as UK or Portugal went through a similar challenge back in the past, and now they are very sustainable and huge markets. Brazil has the potential to be like them or even bigger.

As you may know, G&M News has a strong focus on education, trying to share information to the industry, trying to be academic, teaching and learning. The same has happened with Oddsgate, since your company recently presented ‘The Future of iGaming in 2050’ document. Can you tell us more about this interesting study?

Yes, we’ve done thorough research with industry leaders, discussing different areas, such as payments, crypto, AI and more. To me, it’s very important not just to look for the future but to learn from the past. We investigated the past, understood how technology has advanced over the last twenty years, and made this document for primary research. AI implementations have been a hot topic in the industry, and the future holds more innovation in this issue: players’ safety, prediction of their behavior, how to offer them the best experience. There are really exciting years ahead for the sector.

Which strategies will Oddsgate define to continue growing in the LatAm region?

Very good question. The word for Brazil is consolidation. We are working with lots of operators there, giving them all the support they need. The plan is to expand to other markets, with the same business model based on focusing on our clients. We will provide guidance, knowledge, strategic consultancy, and more, helping them grow. Oddsgate is advancing in Argentina and Peru. While we will center on Brazil, we won’t neglect serving other attractive markets on the continent. There’s plenty of room to continue working and growing.
