Anticipating the future is no longer a fictional exercise — it has become a key competitive advantage. With the launch of Gate to 2050, an unprecedented foresight study on the future of iGaming, Oddsgate takes a decisive leap in market intelligence. This bold initiative reaffirms the company’s role as a reference in innovation, trend analysis, and scenario planning for the gaming industry worldwide.
To lead this ambitious project, Oddsgate partnered with the independent consultancy ALVA Research & Consulting, renowned for its work with companies and institutions in long-term strategy and future design. The study’s objective: to look beyond short-term trends and deliver a comprehensive, evidence-based projection of where the iGaming sector is heading by mid-century.
The research began in the summer of 2024 and gained visibility at the SBC Summit in Lisbon, where its preliminary insights were unveiled. Over the following months, the initiative integrated multiple methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research, and drew from the contributions of over 20 global experts and 200 survey participants from the industry.
More than a traditional report, Gate to 2050 offers a deep, strategic vision of potential developments in online betting, digital casinos, and the broader gambling ecosystem. It takes into account 21 transactional variables, analyzing iGaming in connection with broader transformations across geopolitics, technology, economy, society, and the environment.
The study’s methodology was based on three core stages: identifying signals and global directions, outlining a plausible scenario for iGaming in 2050, and sharing this long-term vision to support informed decision-making across the sector.
Some of the major megatrends addressed in the report include:
-
The role of artificial intelligence, blockchain, and extended reality (AR, VR, metaverse);
-
The rise of hyper-personalized platforms and predictive CRM;
-
The integration of digital payments and cryptocurrencies as industry standards;
-
Enhanced cybersecurity and data privacy;
-
The growing importance of sustainability and social responsibility in gaming operations.
These insights aim to help regulators, operators, and stakeholders align their strategies with the demands of an evolving and increasingly interconnected world.
The complete study was officially launched during SBC Summit Rio in February 2025. On that occasion, Wagner Fernandes, Chief Marketing Officer of Oddsgate, presented the study’s key findings. “This study is not just about predicting the future of iGaming,” he said. “It’s also an invitation to reflect and act. We are entering an era in which technology and responsibility must go hand in hand to deliver safer and more innovative experiences. This document is a roadmap for those who want to lead that transformation.”
With Gate to 2050, Oddsgate transforms knowledge into strategic action and confirms its leadership in delivering cutting-edge insights for the iGaming industry. The full study is now available on Oddsgate’s official website, where the company invites the entire sector to look ahead with clarity, ambition, and a renewed sense of purpose.
