By Ulises Gil, journalist at G&M News

How does Playson adapt its content or game development strategy to better fit the preferences of Latin American players?

To adapt our content effectively, we take a data-driven yet culturally attuned approach. This starts with analyzing market-specific performance indicators -what games, mechanics, and visual themes perform best- and combining that insight with direct feedback from local partners and players. Our development strategy involves creating lightweight games that load quickly even in lower-bandwidth environments, essential for many parts of the region. On the backend, we’ve invested in regional infrastructure, including a dedicated cloud cluster to ensure smoother game performance and faster response times. One thing I’ve learned is that adapting to LatAm isn’t just about translation;, it’s about cultural alignment. Players in Colombia may resonate more with narrative-driven visuals, while in Argentina, speed and payout visibility can take priority. Working closely with partners across the region gives us insight that no dashboard can replace, and we feed that back directly to the product team.

Could you share any title designed with the LatAm audience in mind?

A great example is our recently launched Coin Strike 2: Hold and Win, which has seen strong early traction in LatAm markets. It blends recognizable visual cues and a dynamic audiovisual style that resonates well with players across the region, while also delivering engaging mechanics like Super Strike Features and Buy Bonus options, both popular among LatAm audiences who value excitement and immediacy. Looking ahead, we’re preparing several more titles with localized themes and persistent mechanics, including fresh iterations of our 3 Pots series and Cash Collect-style games, which have proven successful in Brazil and Colombia.

From your perspective, how does the Latin American gaming market compare with other regions in terms of innovation and engagement?

Compared to other regions I’ve worked with, LatAm is incredibly dynamic. Everyone’s looking for the next standout experience. Players here are very responsive to new mechanics and bonus features, but they also value familiarity and clear gameplay. This balance creates the perfect environment for experimenting with fresh formats. Unlike some saturated markets where novelty can sometimes be met with skepticism, in LatAm, there’s a real appetite for authentic, high-energy content. Operators, too, are proactive and agile, often seeking out partnerships that allow them to differentiate quickly and scale effectively. If you deliver #MORE value, the market responds immediately.

Are there any particular mechanics or features that you see as especially appealing to players in that region?

From our experience in the region, players in Latin America are drawn to straightforward yet high-impact mechanics, those that offer excitement, dynamic pacing, and clear win potential. The Hold and Win mechanic continues to be a top performer, thanks to its simple structure and thrilling bonus rounds that build anticipation and deliver satisfying results. We also see strong engagement from features that support perceived persistence mechanics, random boosters, and symbol collectors, which create a sense of progression and surprise. This aligns with a broader trend in LatAm toward longer playtime and high volatility, where players are motivated by the chance to chase bigger wins. At Playson, we aim to deliver mechanics that strike the perfect balance between familiarity and innovation, tailored to the unique preferences of each LatAm market.

What game themes do you believe will resonate most with the Latin American market in the upcoming season, and why?

We approach the Latin American market with deep respect for its cultural richness, diversity, and passion for entertainment. From my conversations with operators and partners across LatAm, it’s clear that players want games that feel alive. Seasonally, we expect celebratory themes, vibrant visual styles, and rhythmic audio cues to perform particularly well. We’ve seen this especially in markets like Brazil and Mexico, where festive themes connect strongly. It’s not just about bright colors; it’s about the energy the game gives back to the player. Additionally, fruit-themed Hold and Win titles, which combine familiar mechanics with lively presentation, continue to be strong performers due to their accessibility and high replay value.
